THE ARTIST

Charlene Changkee aka The Introverted Extrovert is a multidisciplinary aritst based out of Edmonton, Alberta, working primarily in acrylic, mixed media and photo collage. Her work explores themes of identity, transformation and emotional truth through a powerful fusion of photography and painting.

Charlene's creative process begins with immersive, themed photography sessions in her home studio. These sessions serve both as reference and as raw material - her photographs are often embedded directly into her collages or used to inform expressive, layered paintings. Each piece is an intimate exploration of her subject's story, captured in a way that reflects both their vulnerability and their power.

A self-taught artist and regular participant in the annual Whyte Avenue Art Walk since 2010, Charlene believes in art as a vehicle for personal evolution. Her work invites viewers to reflect on their own capacity for change, healing and self-acceptance.
